This video is a simulation of how traffic will be diverted during Stage 1 and Stage 2 Traffic Shifts for the demolition and removal of the toll facilities which impede free flow of traffic along Cross Island Parkway (CIP) mainline and ramps and restriping of travel lanes through the affected area to allow free flow of traffic. Stage 1 of the demolition will start after the lanes in the middle of the toll booth are closed and moved to the outside lanes safely. It is estimated the removal of the center toll booths will take four weeks. Stage 2 of the demo will begin when all outside lanes are closed and traffic is safely moved to the middle lanes. It is estimated the removal of the outermost booths will be four weeks. The remaining project activities will include removal of the automated toll facilities on the Westbound CIP on-ramp and the Eastbound CIP off-ramp at the Marshland Road Interchange. In addition, the project will include pavement reconstruction of mainline CIP and interchange ramps along with roadway realignment between Marshland Road Interchange and the bridge over Broad Creek. These activities will be completed under temporary lane closures. Media Notifications for the planned traffic control closures will be issued weekly.
